Student Internships
The ACLU is a volunteer-driven organization. From mailing newsletters to testifying before the legislature to distributing brochures and speaking to community groups - volunteers are our lifeblood. A few hours a week can make a big difference. Join us for camaraderie, a sense of purpose, and some excitement!
INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES
Interns at the ACLU of Hawaii. The ACLU of Hawaii provides many internship opportunities. Positions can be structured to meet the needs of individual students to a certain extent. Interns gain practical experience in legal and factual research, public education, legislative lobbying and the operation of a highly professional public interest organization. Interns also learn about current issues in which the ACLU of Hawaii is actively involved, and the civil liberties principles underlying its work. Internships are not paid positions. [Check with your college and/or law school to see whether you can receive academic credit.]
Although internship applications are accepted year-round, prospective interns should apply for the internship period they are interested in (i.e. Summer, Fall, Spring) as early as possible. Slots for Summer Internships, in particular, fill up quickly.
